The government of Malaysia finally calls it quit concerning PPSMI. The Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran Sains dan Matematik dalam Bahasa Inggeris or fondly know as PPSMI will be scrapped fully by 2012.
It is about time, and I support the government move. But I would prefer if the government starts immediately next year for standard 1 and form 1. No need to wait for another 3 years. This half-baked policy should not have implemented in the first place.
The man who mooted the idea meanwhile has waged an all-out war to defend his brainchild idea. An online poll was set up, yet critics pointed out that such poll is prone to spam and manipulation. Read post below (in Malay).
